Sick

My favourite sick tea: honey, lemon and ginger.

Tea that comes in beautiful boxes and popsicles made from tea & juice.

Lemon and ginger for tea, and a mini hot water bottle keeping my legs warm.

I'm sick and it sucks. I had so many fun plans this week, and the opportunity to sub yoga classes, and of course lots of work to do, and then I woke up feeling terrible on Tuesday.

To top it all off, husband's away so I'm all by myself. But luckily for me, I have very kind friends and family who have come over to bring me veggie stock, DVD's and coconut water. And when they leave I sit here on my couch, with my hot water bottles, drinking tea and watching Downton Abbey. What do you guys to when you're stuck at home with the flu?

Downtown Abbey has started screening here a few weeks ago and I am addicted already. I will add this series to my must own collection. I have Upstairs Downstairs and the Duchess of Duke Street and Larkrise to Candleford.

  4. I hope you get well soon. Rest, rest, rest.
My husband and 2 kids have gotten sick with only one recovering to date. I'm the one left standing but if history says anything, I will be the last fall!!
I honestly can't remember the last time I rested when I was sick. These days I just keep going.

  6. I hope you feel well soon! And tea does, in fact, make things better. I had the worst tea experience today though. I was out of honey, so I sweetened my tea with sugar. Only too much sugar, so that it was undrinkable. So I stopped by a coffee shop to order a green tea and you would have thought I asked for a pink elephant. And don't even get me started on the honey. It took five people ten minutes to make one cup of tea. Whew.

  9. Boohoo for being sick!

When I have the flu I lay in bed, only leave to use the bathroom or get food. I blow my nose CONSTANTLY, in hopes to blow all the germs out of me (which actually usually works), gargle warm salty water (well I don't do that in bed), drink warm lemon and honey water, sleep and watch TV shows over the internet non stop. You'd be suprised how fast the day goes when you watch TV shows without annoying ads every 5 minutes!

  12. if i'm sick you'll find me online blogging and reading blogs! (and pretending i'm not sick cause no one has to know online!)

though generally the husband tries to put me in bed (i'm sorry to hear yours is away!) ...and when that doesn't work he builds me sick nest like this:
