My Creative Space: A really useful fabric roll

Thursday, June 23, 2011

This little case is the 'really useful fabric roll' from the first Meet me at Mike's book. I think it's pretty darn cute, but the problem is that I just can't quite figure out what it should hold, which means that it hasn't been particularly useful yet. Any ideas on how to make this little number live up to its name?

  1. Ooohh this is really cool! I love the fabric. But I am NO help as to what to put inside. What about using it as a little clutch and keeping personal things that kind of a DUH answer? ha!

  2. Love the fabric! You could use it for teabags for all occasions? make up? Lip balm?
My girls would snaffle something like that straight up and have it filled with some of their little trinkets in no time! Great job!

  3. I love the fabrics and rope you have used. I have made this too! I made it a little taller than the pattern suggested so I could use it to hold cutlery when going on a picnic. I put some photos of it on my blog which you can have a look at here if you like.
Or maybe you could use it to hold pens and pencils? or paintbrushes perhaps?

  4. Good job - i use my similar one to hold my crochet hooks. You could store pens etc in it for your handbag. I love the previous suggestion of using it for cutlery on picnics though!

  5. or as a jewellery holder if you are going away for the weekend....cute roll.

  6. It looks great and I love the use of the colourful fabric with the denim!! I would probably be putting all of my little ones toys in there fro when we go out somewhere :)

  7. great idea! and love the choice of colors and fabric!

  8. this is so cute! i love this idea

  9. This is gorgeous - I would use it to store jewellery :)
Just wanted to say I love your header xx
