green (and more thoughts on iphones)

Friday, July 20, 2012

I've been AFK (nerd speak for 'away from keyboard') for the last few days so I've only just gotten around to reading through the comments on my last post. It was great to hear everyone's thoughts, and struggles. I wrote this post because I really am the worst. My iphone and I are glued at the hip, and it's been bugging me lately how much I rely on it.

Tania made an interesting point; after her smart phone was stolen, she had to revert back to using an old mobile which she described as her "own little phone rehab." I think I may need my own phone rehab!

Moving along, here are some bits and pieces of green I've been noticing around my home lately...

p.s. last chance to enter to win a dreamy print from Alexandra Wallace Photography!

  3. I can totally relate. I think I use my phone to mask feelings of loneliness or worrying about my value. It's so vital to get this nourishment from friends and community face to face!

  4. Anne of Green Gables!!! Well, Anne of Windy Willows, but still. I love those books! I think I must've read the whole series at least 5 times when I was in primary school :D

Lovely photos, have a great weekend Gaby! Rhi xx

  9. Thanks for your comment over at TWENTYNINE.

I got my first cell phone about a year and a half ago when my daughter was born, and I have personnaly stayed away from the iPhone because they just seem to be too addictive. I might get one eventually, but for now I am so happy with just talk and text capability.

    Nice to 'meet' you.

  15. agh! i so relate to this. i love my iPhone but i am secretly excited for my contract to be up so i can turn pseudo-amish and get some basic phone that i don't check constantly. it gives me a tech headache, for sure.

  16. Saw your comment on my "blue" post today and had to track down your "home in color" posts! Love this! Great minds and all that ;)

Lovely, lovely shades of green :) Do I spy an Anne of Green Gables book on top? I cannot tell you how much of my childhood was devoted to the Anne books. Any chance you remember the Canadian TV series "Road to Avonlea"? based in the same world as the Anne books. I was completely obsessed.
